Did they think rednecks were going to run out to see this movie?

Just because Larry the Cable Guy is in it?
Maybe a few did.

There were more white people in that theater than black people. And there weren't a whole lot of people.

I ran out to see it

Does Larry's movies make a lot of movie? I think they flop so if it would be odd to think he'd bring in white people, or 'rednecks'.

Most "white" movies usually toss in a black character so I could see the same going for a "black" movie. Perry does his movies with a smaller budget so he probably had to get someone who was funny for very little money. Hence, Larry the Cable Guy. Just a guess though.

I'm sure Larry was far more expensive than a "white character" that was just tossed in.
Also, your statement that "most white movies usually toss in a black character" is wrong on multiple levels.
What is a "white" movie anyhow?

While I didn't make that comment it's obvious what he meant, a movie by a white screen writer, white director, and white cast in the main roles. Just like TP makes 'black' movies because he's black and it's usually a black cast.

It's not that it's meant for whites only, just like TP isn't for blacks only, I'm sure a lot of whites have seen his movies. I like a lot of Jackie Chan's work before he went Hollywood, anyone can watch them but they are 'Asian' films in the same way a lot of Hollywood movies are made by and star white people, with some exceptions.
