Madea could be HUGE!

I mean.. I know TP's movies are very popular in African American community. But let's face it, they're his only audience.

I am an Asian male, not American and I have enjoyed TP's movies for a while now. I love Madea. I Think she's hysterical.

I think if TP and Lionsgate play the cards right, Madea can be a huge INTERNATIONAL movie franchise if they cut out the religious/bad guys always lose/kindness conquers aspects of his movies. Also, i think this is why most people have problems with his movies. It's way too preachy. But what can I say, I enjoy Madea. 6ft 4 black man in a drag? What's not to love.

I, personally, would pay a good money to see Madea in the Hangover type of movie. But I understand his point of view and respect for what he believes.

You just contradicted yourself there. The Black community is not his only audience.

Actually, the OP has a point, does Lionsgate bother promoting the Madea films overseas? Has Tyler Perry ever done press with European, Australian, Canadian media outlets?

People keep on saying black films do not do well overseas. However, the problem is, does Hollywood invest in terms of marketing dollars to PROMOTE black films overseas?
