How does Bo not know...

...that Tate is her Dad? She has all these feelings about people she doesn't know and sometimes who she's never met, and yet she doesn't know he's her Dad? No feeling at all about him? Or maybe she does, but she doesn't want to reveal it to him till she thinks he is ready?

reply

I agree that it seems strange that she doesn't know. She knew that Winter was burdened by some information; it seems odd that she wouldn't know what that information is. The only thing that might explain why she doesn't know is that she is still learning how to control her gifts. Sometimes she knows someone "needs their help," but doesn't really know why. So she might know that Winter needs to tell Tate something but doesn't know what it is.

reply

She could tell that Tate's friend was trying to deceive him but couldn't tell why so there are other people she cant completely read too. I wonder if Tate will tell her in the next episode because looks like she's going to be seriously hurt.

reply

I thought this was weird too. My friend suggested that because Tate doesn't know, she can't pick up on it. As far as I can tell (if my memory serves correctly), she can only pick up on information that people already know about themselves.

I view her reading people more as an emotional connection rather than reading specific thoughts. With respct to seeing the future, it seems more that she gets a vague sensation of experiencing an event than actually knowing any context of what she is seeing.

In the pilot, she kept seeing that the doctor was going to help a person named Senga, but it turns out that she was saw the back side of some cut out letters of the name Agnes from the doctor's perspective at some point in the future. He didn't know about that at the time.

With the waitress at the casino, Bo could sense the sadness and knew that it was due to a sick child at home, but she couldn't read the waitress's mind to find out details about the child, Bo had to ask for details about the waitress's son.

The Dark Side of the Force clouds everything, I guess.

reply

I think that, because Tate is her father, she can't read him like she can ordinary people. There is this natural, psychic bond there and it "clouds" him to her.

She always talks about how hes angry and troubled but those are just behavioral observations, not her reading his mind.

TV Series Finale says, "Bo (Johnny Sequoyah), a young girl, has had gifts she could neither fully understand nor control — like levitation, telekinesis, the ability to control nature, and to see the future."

I didn't know she has the ability to control nature! I also believe she will know Tate is her father now that he knows it.

reply

In the pilot she 'controlled' the birds.

Thank you!

I was going to post this myself until I read yours. In fiction you can make up anything you want but there is this thing called "suspension of disbelief" where there are clear rules. No one did this better than J.K. Rowlings' world of magic. So yes, I think it makes no sense that the clairvoyant girl wouldn't not know Tate is her father.

Once they established Tate's revelation early in this episode and then his refusal to impart it to his daughter, I figured that would be the key to bring her out of her coma ... him revealing the knowledge to Bo. But again, Winter notes that it was Bo's decision, not Tate's. Hunh? Bo's decision as to the timing of when it would be revealed to her?

reply

I agree, she would know he was her father. Writers should be aware by now that viewers notice these things. If she can see the future, then she could see herself with her father in the future. If she knows people's thoughts, then she would have known that Tate's emotions and feelings changed for her dramatically after he was told the news.

reply

A good point but it could be that she doesn't know the exact reason why his emotions and feelings would change for her. Bo doesn't claim to know everything, it why she states that someone needs their help but then they have to talk to the person to find out why. Such as the latest episode, where Bo didn't know exactly what Gary was going to do, only that it was 'bad', until she actively tried to find out why; she also didn't know why he was going to do it, only that he would if they didn't help.

Also, when Tate found out, she told him that whatever he was worrying about would be OK. Obviously she can't understand the reasons for his emotional state, just that she knows he's worrying about something.

How does Bo not know...
Because it's a crappy show.
I would agree with you except for the fact that you're wrong.

The only thing keeping viewers interested in the show is hot Johnny.
Stop being a pedophile.

She's 10 unless she had a birthday recently.

reply

Ah, even worse, eh?! (I just subtracted birth year fro current year...)

Nobody's Perfect :)

reply

Doesn't really make it worse, it's rather bad no matter how you look at it. She looks like such a sweet kid and this perv is trying to sexualize her.

To say she is 'hot' is a way of trying to sexualize her. Stop being a pedo.

Stop trying to deny her hotness. How many years must pass before you will feel comfortable acknowledging it?
Dude, you are a trolling pedophile.

reply

Agreed. I'm a mom of grown kids and such comments always make me nauseous, literally. Glad some folks will still take the time to call pervs out on their creepy comments. My hat is off to you sir/ma'am.

I'm a dude. The troll has starting stalking me and is trying to act like I'm the one with a problem. Look in the board for Chloe Grace Moretz (look at my profile or his to get to it easier). I seriously hope they are never given guardianship of any kids, it will be the worst thing for them.

Nobody is a friend of mine and I'll tell ya now, he's not perfect. I am though. (Disclaimer: I'm perfect with exception to my imperfections.)
