Why did they hang her? Was she aiding the Resistance? I felt so sorry for Jojo at this point.

I think it was implied she was in the Resistance when both of them see another group of hanged people and Jojo asks "What did they do?" to which his mother responds with "They did what they could." Tragic.

Yes she and jojos father where part of the resistance.
He saw her leaving the leaflets out and also the gestapo when they searched the house was looking for evidence as they obviously had suspicions or been tipped off about her.

That Gestapo scene later on was creepy af. It was very brave of the Jewish girl to pretend to be someone else in front of them as she did, it could've all backfired so easily, for all of them.
