By the cast here, especially the boy playing Jojo, Scarlett and the girl playing Elsa.
shareI think this will become a classic child performance that people look back and say that this is what you can get if you just try directing the kids, as opposed to just using them as props. Can't really think of many child performances that are on-par, I guess Sixth Sense and The Florida Project.

shareInsanely good. Taika directed the hell out of this film, but the film certainly wouldn’t be complete without such strong acting. And although the whole cast was terrific, the aforementioned actors truly shined. Roman Griffith Davis who played Jojo amazingly carried the film (easily some of the finest acting by a child actor), and Scarlett and Thomasin (Elsa) were also staggering. All the praise given to the actors (including Taika) couldn’t be more deserving.

I wasn't particularly impressed with Johansson or Mckenzie, both of whom have been much better in other recent roles but had little to work with here.
I will shout out to Sam Rockwell, who is always great value and here proves very good at making something out of nothing.
