A pretty good movie, but...
Rated at 8.5 on IMDB? Better than La La Land, another Damien Chazelle movie that came in at 8.0? No way. I have it in the low 7's.
On another note: Fletcher's use of fear and humiliation to motivate his students is the way it's done in the military, so you'll be willing to advance under blazing machine guns or take that fucking hill. It works but it's soul-crushing, unlike the way it's done in the Israeli military, which is more of a bonding experience between superiors and their charges.
