I thought he was brilliant. I'm not sure whether or not he was better than J.K. Simmons, he had a very different role.
shareJ.K. Simmons was by far the better, but Teller does a really good job. I think he deserved a Oscar nom, at least.

Nah, mostly they tend to only give one actor for any given a movie the nomination for a male lead, and between the two actors Simmons was much better. If Teller had been a chick then it might have been possible for them to do them bother then because they wouldn't be competing against each other. Remember you have politics and money involved in getting nominations and awards. The studios know that a nomination is good for X dollars, a win is X+... but if they had pushed to have both Teller and Simmons nominated they would have put two dogs in the hunt and they would have taken votes away from each other making it unlikely that either one would have won and then the studeio wouldn't have gotten as much money from their campaign to get an award at all.
