If Jeff Bridges character felt the robbers were targeting a certain bank, and there were only like 5-6 branches, instead of him and his partner staking out 1 bank, couldn't they have staked all of them out? Even just telling the local police to keep an eye on these banks for a couple of weeks would have worked.

I liked the movie - the scenery, Jeff Bridges acting, and the overall action - but it had a lot of unrealistic plot problems. The ending, though atypical of these types of films, was implausible as well: proving the Chris Pine character was in on the robberies just by the testimony of those in the banks wouldn't have been too hard to do.
