Hell or Hight Water is definitely one of the better films of the year, but it's not among my favourites, because I think it was trying to be smarter than what it actually was.
Also, The Witch is a 2015 release officially, so I won't put it on my list.

I can't properly rank it right now, but this is certainly at the top. The dialogue in this film is goddamn exquisite. I don't know if it will translate well to foreigners in the same way The Big Lebowski has a certain geographic resonance to it. If this doesn't get an OG screenplay nom, something is wrong with the Academy.
