The Color Palette - was it me or

Was the color in this movie god damn incredible?!

The opening shot of the dealership seemed like it should be boring and just something to start the action but; the white railings, the colored flags, the orange brown empty town etc was for some reason a masterpiece.

Not sure if it caught anyone's attention but the morning shot of Jeff Brigdes in the seat out side his room his partner talking, the red truck behind pretty much glowed but didn't take the attention away.

The green Challenger at the petrol stop etc.

It's not just you. The color in this movie was incredible. The cinematography was spectacular.

Ya know what another movie was that looked incredible and poped off the screen with smart use of color ?.........Piranha 3D ( 2010 ) .....I sh!t you not lol. It was gorgeous to behold with some amazing camera work throughout.

It's not only you man. For me it was a taste of true America, a country which i never visited. I wish i ride my Ducati on that country roads.

That is correct. I rank this a 9/10, with its only fault being too Trumpy (sexism, racism, and stupid financial action... instead of fixing a bad systemic situation that makes everyone poor, just fix your own lot)...

But everything about this film is great, the score, the cinematography, the direction, the acting, the script, it's a *beep* western in cars! That poor horse trying to get out of that parking lot!

Damned fine movie, I hope it wins many awards. One of the only good movies I've seen this year.

***So I've seen 4 movies/wk in theatre for a 1/4 century, call me crazy?**

I agree- I loved it and I thought it had a lot of depth and pathos, despite a superficially thin plot. I can see the reference to 'Trump's America', but I really think that's just unfortunate timing and his orange bloated head and dodgy rhetoric can be ignored: even beyond it being 'Banker's America', this film goes beyond that to play on the fading of myth of the frontier and redundant cowboy era, the death of the classic American machismo, sort of akin to the last half of The Wild Bunch.

And yeah, the cinematography was wonderful and the modern-western/rural thriller shtick hasn't been done this well since No Country...

My wife and I watched it on a whim and these kind of films don't really float her boat, but she loved it. Definitely deserves the praise.
