Yep. Looked like British Chieftains.

Also, all the soldiers in this movie used basic M4/M16 with iron sights. As far as I know, the majority of soldiers in Iraq used ACOG, aimpoints or other devices. You'll have a hard time finding photos of them without anything mounted on their guns.

At the end of the movie, Superman's men use aiming devices. So I guess it's just the main characters that have none.
