This had an interesting atmosphere and eye candy. I am a sucker for broody brunette gentlemen.
shareAgreed, really enjoyed this one. Bernthal surprised me with his restrained performance and Abbott was good as ever, this time in psycho mode.
It could've used a bit more oomph in its resolution, but the excellent cinematography, decent score and, as you said, fantastic atmosphere make it a delight. A shame it's gotten such a low rating on IMDb.
I was actually kind of pleasantly surprised at it's anti-climactic showdown. It defied my expectations and avoided leaning on an exhausted trope for catharsis.
shareI didn't think the final showdown was anti-climatic at all. But yeah, the fact that it was a small, contained battle, instead of a big, vanilla action set-piece was a delight. Just a little more originality, prolonged tension and perhaps a smidge more violence would've been nice. Nevertheless, it's solid as it is.
