Awful film
However it is unique in that it simultaneously fails as a drama, comedy and a horror film.

shareAgreed. From the opening shot to the end i have never seen such an awful movie in my life. I never laughed once, very low budget and terrible actors/terrible acting from all involved, i hate Plaza after this. I spent most of the film, 99% completely disgusted.
I find your lack of foreskin disturbing
I was surprised how awful it was. 4/10, being generous.
shareYeah really was disappointed with the failure to capitalize on a quasi original concept. I had no idea what this movie was when I saw it on Amazon, but the appearance of John C. Riley, Molly Shannon, and Aubrey Plaza made me think that a dark comedy was going to play out. The main problem is that the tone of this movie is never really established. The beginning was very depressing and dramatic. Not saying the drama was good, I don't like Dane Dehaan guy. Theres a very weird scene where he talks to his brother with no pants on. I'm not sure what that was. And it gets a lil suspenseful with him trying to figure out whats going on. Then, I dunno what the hell goes on for the next 25 minutes while they're in love or whatever. Theres a part where they dryhump eachother infront of the girls parents. Then the movie changes when the zombie apocalypse plot is revealed. It becomes almost a semi parody of the genre. The scene where the BF goes to the parents house and Aubrey eats someone in the backyard then comes back in saying I WAS HUNGRY! in a bratty teenage tone was a part I like. Probably the high point. I wish they could have kept it light like that a lil. Almost like Shawn of the Dead. It had some of those elements with the relatives coming back to life and no one quite understanding whats going on which were good. But yeah for the most part the movie is boring, weird, and totally misses the opportunity to use good comedic actors in a (semi) original plot.
shareI couldn't last more then 30 minutes, it was so boring, not funny, not dramatic, acting was off like they didn't know what kind of tone to aim at. And I don't say that often as I always force myself to finish even crappy films.
And now I hate "Dane DeHaan, what an annoying twat.
I thought he was OK in Chronicle, but this and Spiderman 2 gah...
I did skip forward a bit before i gave up, and the makeup did look neat though. Too bad.
3/10
Yikes, this was a disaster. Spent the entire film waiting for it to reach a point where I would go "Oh so that's where they're going with all of these nonsensical events." It never came.
I cannot recommend this to anyone other than massive fans of Plaza/DeHaan. Though, I would recommend watching just about anything else they've been in over this.
Yeah I couldn't have said it better myself. There's not one funny line in this whole mess of a movie. In fact the whole thing is a 100% failure in every respect, and they can't say they didn't have a decent cast to work with.
All I know is I'll never watch anything involving this Jeff Baena guy ever again.
