Comparable to The Walking Dead

This movie started out really slowly, with very little dialogue. I was hoping for a faster pace, until I got into the vibe they where going for. It's that bleak, hopeless "Walking Dead" sort of feel, but even darker I thought. It was really painful to watch, but I am glad I did. Despite it being post apocalyptic, it really made me think of how people actually lived in rural areas such as Appalachia 200+ years ago.

I love TWD and I was thinking the same thing while watching this. The parts where they "wash up" , the lack of all our daily creature comforts, and the girl having to wash her feminine product in the stream really make you appreciate what we have today. I think we totally take everything for granted. Like in TWD the other day they (Rick and his peeps) were taking a hot shower and you could see the bliss on their faces! I turned to my b/f and said: "makes you appreciate that we can take a nice HOT shower whenever we want, doesn't it?"
Yes the movie was bleak and sad....I don't get why ppl are complaining about that. It's meant to portray the loneliness and isolation one would experience after the break down of civilization.
Kind of reminded me of Book of Eli and .....(crap can't think of it now but something similar to this movie....)

Yes. I thought whilst watching it that it was basically TWD without zombies...
