Pretty crappy movie.
The movie wasn't very cohesive or memorable. It almost tried to give some origin stories but didn't have the guts to actually commit. Some of it didn't really make sense, even for Wonderland.
For example: while going back in time, 'Time' freezes the Mad Hatter's tea party so it will 'always be one minute to tea time'. Then after some slapstick at the perpetual tea party, that is just forgotten as the movie switches gears. Why didn't that affect the future? oh--because you can't change the past...but what is the point of that scene? I'd rather have a meaningful story that progresses towards a resolution, not misleading, insignificant distractions. The Hatter is delusional, now he's evil, now he's just sick. now it's tea time forever, now it's like that never happened, now hes' himself again...ugh. There wasn't anything of substance.
It just felt like it didn't have much heart, and there were no real consequences. There wasn't much tension. It just felt like everything would magically work out. Also, there were no heartwarming or believable relationships in the movie. At the end, Alice says the hardest thing about leaving wonderland will be leaving all of her friends behind--but there isn't a felling that they have really been through that much together or have an affinity for one another. It felt like the movie was poop.
