after his string of fail with
dark shadows
lone ranger
mortdecai
and now alice 2
(6 if you wanna count the abysmal transcendance and the tourist)

seems like depp is on a downward trend
only his jack sparrow seems to be his meat and potatoes role......hopefully pirates 5 doesnt fail.

his hatter in alice 2 was annoying as hell, btw. very cringe inducing. i really dont wanna see him play that character again. the makeup this time was way worse. i felt sorry for hatter - and not in a good way.

i didnt count black mass, but i wanted to, because the makeup job was horrendous. those blue eyes were so fake.

His Hatter was as annoying as it was in the first film. Only this time his role was written in such a way that you really couldnt help but be ticked off by that character even more than the last time.

Why would he go crazy (or crazier) at the thought of his family being alive? And why oh why would Alice say, I think he's dieing. It seemed such a weird conclusion to come to, when he looked in better health than ever before (even his hair was super tidy and bright orange). And then when the writers put Hatter on his deathbed - I mean what were they thinking!! Not only was the whole madness-dieing storyline written really badly, the makeup was so god-awful! They gave Depp a black and white makeup as though the makeup department wasnt aware of his LONE RANGER role/ flop. If they wanted ALice's line to make sense- they should've started giving sick Hatter some white hairs, atleast that way her line, I think he's dieing would make sense.

Dark Shadows was freakin' amazing. One of the best movies I've seen.

My ratings are not always like the IMDB average score because I only enjoy intelligent movies.

Johnny needs to find better scripts to work on and After Pirates 5 he should take a break from sequels

After Pirates 5 I think he and Disney are done with each other. His next franchise is playing the Invisible Man in Universals monster franchise. If that doesn't hit big its back to being a real actor and doing more film like Black Mass.

Hahahaha I felt the exact same way, especially watching the first movie (the dance he did at the end lol). They tried to make the Mad Hatter the star of the series when he's by far the most annoying and least interesting. Johnny Depp's acting comes across as so desperate in this role, it's definitely cringworthy. I felt sorry for the Hatter, too. Not to mention his makeup and lisp were twice as bad in this movie (did he even have a lisp in the first one? Weird).
