Alice can do whatever Alice wants to do.....

Feminist *beep* alert.

It's a shame because the actual fantasy stuff(you know what the entire Alice story is about) is actually pretty good in this movie.

It's ruined by the i am a woman and i can do whatever i like *beep*

I would have given this a 7 or 7.5 for the majority of the movie but it's ruined by the ridiculous feminist equality start and ending.

So for me it gets a 5. Shame the SJW's ruined another perfectly good storytelling world.

That's not the theme. The theme is about reconciliating with the mother - a theme that is MIRRORED in the hatter experience in wonderland.

reply

No, the theme is men are idiots, especially white men. It's another feminist revisionist storytelling.

Yes, I agree. The theme is basically about reconciliation with ones family - accepting the past, but trying to learn from it, learning to forgive. It's very much a family-centric film. And as far as showing female equality, and a striving towards it, that's also happening, which I consider commendable (sorry, but my maleness doesn't feel threatened). Alice is a role model for young girls who will eventually become adults and have to find their way in the world, to deal with those challenges.
