pretty good slasher..not superb.

I have to disagree, it really was superb. It was probably the best slasher in the last year easily and that's out of around 350+ horror films I've seen in that span.

Other than it maybe throw Kristy and The Den in with it, as they were the only other decent slasher type horror films recently. This film is as good as it gets for the slasher genre these days and that's actually fine by me.

It's a decent slasher, one of the better examples of the genre in years. Didn't like the cliche ending though. Too similar to Scream.

I thought it was fantastic considering what horror has been serving up these past few years. If I have to sit another paranormal/ghost movie, I'll slit my wrists.

I didn't think the gore was "needed" but I didn't mind it. What worked for the film was the unique visual style, the score, and genuine suspense in the murder sequences. It has been a long time since I've enjoyed a slasher film, and this brought back pleasant memories of a time when these films weren't a dying breed.
