Attempting a dreamy, surreal setting, yet you can hear the floodlights click on in progression when guy walks through the woods. Terrible. Like, WTF are we watching? Meta horror or shoddy remake of horror horror.

Jesú Cristo this movie was atrocious. Face-paced music does not a thriller make.

"I can't help but notice that there are skulls all over everything. Are we the baddies?"

The motion activated lights that are around the town (that we see previously throughout the film!), do you mean?! Part of the film, itself. Not bad editing.
