The entire movie made Texarkana seem like a small Texas town, and while it's not big, it is at least 60,000 in the city. The combined metro area is much larger. It also has a major intersection of i30 and i49.
Although Gary Cole does a good job as a small town sheriff.
I know right? I remember going to eat sushi before prom in Texarkana and then stopping at a Starbucks. Its no where as rural as they portray it.
sharetrue, but it's just easier to label and picture non-big cities in Texas as 'small Texas towns'. no one's very interested in a small-ish city that's been overrun by restaurants and banks in the past decade. I'm T-town born and raised and i approve of this movie.
shareTexarkana defiantly has an international ambiance to it, like NYC, Barcelona, Oslo or Bangkok. I love the architecture, the museums, restaurants just wish I had the possibility to see the Opera house or see the top tier universities there.

After work drinks on Fridays are just amazing in Texarkana. It might compare to London or Stockholm in the summer. Its just boiling, its hip, its cool & its world class.
People fly into Texarkana Regional from Saint Tropes, Reykjavik, Mexico City and Dubai to party there. Its a happening place, like Vegas or Monte Carlo.

shareJersey girl here. Texas is amazing. I had the pleasure of visiting many times over the course of 4 years. The company I worked for was founded in a town north of Austin and we had our annual conference in different Texas cities every year. Austin is deff one of my favs! When people say it’s a different world from the North East, it’s not easy to imagine until you experience it.
