Good God this movie sucked
Stopped it halfway through.
shareYour post probably would be more effective if you actually spoke about some of the reasons why you feel the film didn't work.
But I agree. It was not very good, which is a shame because, while I don't feel the first film is perfect, I do enjoy it and think there's a lot to like about it.
I suspect that losing Guillermo Del Toro as the director probably hurt the film a lot.
The acting was a joke, the plot dragged on for half the movie until they finally got the monsters to show up, the two scientist buddies were nowhere near as funny as they were the first movie, and it was another "I'll never be as good as my father who died so I have to prove myself worthy now" movie.
shareInteresting. I actually thought the first half of the film was more entertaining than the second half.
shareMan, I didn't watch this movie for the longest time because the reviews were so poor. Finally got around to watching it, and I loved it. Not as good as the first, but sequels rarely are. I enjoyed watching the movie. The thing I'll say it really lacked was the terror factor. The first movie genuinely scared me a bit, seemed very apocalyptic, the world seemed on the brink of ending. The sequal.. not so much. They didn't quite capture that same magic.
I'd still give it a 6.5/10 though. Would have gave it a solid 7 for a little Charlie Hunnam cameo. Guess he's too expensive now.
