Was Girl Meets the Bay Window meant as a potential series finale?
I realize the theme was "We're growing up and changing, and that's ok". But it felt way beyond that by the end. That sudden flash forward to 21 year old Riley and Maya, with their sad departure, and current Riley crawling out the window, one last look at the room, pan out, absolutely no music playing so the words and moment could have full effect...
No, everything about that screamed "Hey we're cancelled and won't get to see them grow up like we did with the Boy Meets World kids, so let's see what might have been". That final shot of the three generations of the girls leaving felt, well, incredibly FINAL.
Was it just me here? Obviously it wasn't cancelled and yay for that. But I can't shake the feeling they weren't sure going in so that episode was going to serve as the finale just in case.
