Kid who played Charlie on desgnated survivor

Playing keither sutherlands son. Good for him probably for the best to move away from the disney disease if he wants to advance his career and get more roles as he gets older.

Which kid? Oh, prepubescent children aren't infected by "Disney disease."

I've never understood why children younger than 11 are dissed by so many people in IMDb's Disney show discussions. What? The youngest of Disney Channel's demographic aren't allowed to see their peers on TV?

Yeah, I know filankey is not a word, but it's gonna catch on.

... Tanner Buchanan is 17 years old.

Sorry about that. There's been so much criticism of the little kids — particularly Auggie and Ava the actors' portrayal of Auggie and Ava the characters — in the GMW discussions here since 2014 that when I saw "kid" my brain immediately went to pre-puberty.

I've never seen Designated Survivor so took Charlie to mean character on that show, not Charlie Gardner. (Or as Maya would say it, Chahlie Gahdner!) As for "Disney disease," Tanner Buchanan wasn't around long enough to be infected: only three Disney shows, all GMW episodes.

Oh, that's who the son on DEsignated Survivor is! I knew he looked familiar.

I knew he looked familiar, but had already forgotten he was on GMW. But while you're harping on Disney and acting like there are no roads to solid adult acting jobs whatsoever... you fail to consider that it is very likely he got the role due largely in part to Disney. Seeing how, just to point out, Disney owns ABC.

A high percentage of Disney starlets may seem to go crazy, but that isn't due specifically to Disney. That is a problem that many child stars have had historically, but it's just that Disney happens to be producing a higher percentage of child stars than any other production company today. However, Disney has also gives their stars a lot more opportunities than they'd have ever gotten somewhere else, and a fairly high percentage of their actors and actresses go on to achieve anything from fame, to at least developing connections and other things necessary to ensure they have a chance to have solid employment opportunities. While not making her mega rich or a huge star, Emily Osment (from Hannah Montanna) has had her own show on ABC Family/Freeform for several years now (another Disney owned channel). Aly hasn't had a breakout hit show, but has had pretty solid work. Several members of the HSM cast have had decent success, others steady employment. Teen Beach stars either are still working for Disney, and others were already or have had roles for or outside of Disney.

You shouldn't knock Disney without realizing how much opportunity it really does provide its actors (that they are in no way guaranteed to have had starting somewhere else), due to all the stuff owned by Disney (ABC, Freeform, Marvel, and now Lucasfilms just to name a few), and the connections that they have due to being a powerhouse in the entertainment field.
