You know having a problem early on, then the problem being fixed in the middle and then we all forget about it.. then shocking us all at the end.
I watched the first 2 seasons as they aired. the last 2 seasons I only just finished now re-watched from 1 to 4. (had lots of things happening in life during season 3 and 4 so took 1 years to finish.
Umm the problem was never fixed. He was just dealing with it better.. What he had isn't curable.
shareI also had the impression that, at least in the show, it was fixed. If not cured, then managed in a way that his character would be okay.
Frankly, I loved his character but hated what the writers did with him at multiple points in the story. Both the illness and adultery angles just felt unnecessary and seemed like something the writers came up with just because they didn't know what else to do to keep him busy.
It was always there, but only alluded to for the most part. So then it would catch us by surprise later on. And not knowing how many seasons they would get.
