Read the spoilers. A few questions (spoilers, obviously).

I mainly read about movies ahead of times because I don't want to waste my time with movies like "Interstellar."

Okay, so the big twist is that the "flashbacks" she's having of her daughter are of her daughter that is yet to be born, and will be fathered with one of the other main characters. The Aliens are giving her the "gift" of seeing time as non-linear, and say they will need humanity's help in the distant-ish future.

In what way do they need humanity's help? What can she do by understanding this truth about time? Does she enlighten mankind? If so, in what way? Does the movie explore this deeply?

This is a theme I am very interested in and I'm glad to see the movie is exploring it. For some reason I expected the non-linear time theme to be explored in the movie.

It's never explained how it helps, at all. The only way it does help is in how she uses it to stop the Chinese attacking their alien craft. The film isolates the time thing purely to Amy Adams character and her emotional development.

Although I loved the film, I think if you know it's secrets going in the experience will be a lot flatter.

This thread is such a big spoiler by the way, it might be nice to delete it once you get your answers.
