Arrival Is So Beyond Good, It Will Likely Not Get Nominated For Jack

This movie is like Contact on steroids. You leave the theater thinking you just watched a documentary until you go outside to your car and realize you are back on Earth.

Arrival hit all the highs Contact did in 1997. However, that movie, like this movie, will probably get laughed at by the corrupt Academy Awards as they nominated films 99% of the population never has seen before.

Ok, that makes more sense to me. I was one who really disliked Contact, and when Arrival ended I thought to myself "Dammit! They just made me watch Contact sgain!"

I was saying it in a way to insult the Academy, not these movies. Both movies are on another level of sci-fi - the type that makes you question what you are watching and whether it is possible, or real, or even a documentary. You walk out the theater in a daze because you don't know what you just saw, but you know it was epic.

Academy voters are usually some of the least intelligent people on Earth and that's why they vote for the worst and lame and simplest plot movies on Earth. Where is:

Inception
The Dark Knight
Interstellar
etc.

on anything but Best Sound awards?

Ok. My response was along the lines of understanding why I disliked Arrival. If people who liked Contact also enjoyed Arrival, then it's obviously just not my cup of tea.

Interestingly enough though, I really liked the other movies you listed.
