question *SPOILER*
Maybe i missed it but what did Louise's message to the Chinese man have to do with him calling off the attacks on the pods? I heard something about his wife's final words but how does that connect?

shareShe was able to prove to him that she knew the future, one in which they had met and he had told her that information. Therefore, her knowledge that the aliens were not a threat was reliable and convincing.

Ahhh, got it, now it makes sense. Though I feel dumb i didn't catch that right away. Thanks! :)
shareI think she was honest up front with him about the fate of their daughter and they agreed to have the child anyway. That was the real point of the question- would he still have a daughter who was fated to die.
shareI disagree. While it was not shown, I believe the scientist husband became disturbed and shocked that his wife (Amy) would choose to have a child knowing the daughter was going to suffer and die.
The husband likely felt it was wrong and selfish, and he couldn't bring himself to agree with the decision (although it was HIS - by saying "let's have a baby".
I don't think he can look at his daughter the same way again because her while life as death history was KNOWN by the mother (but she chose to keep it a secret until revealing later on).
