So Flip and Higgy are gay right?

I think this will be revealed in the finale.
Three hints so far:
- They're always together even in intercourse.
- When they found the hippie party,Higgy said he'd "suck anything"
- At the end of the hippie party Higgy is laid hugging Flip.

Yes, they were gay

I haven't even watched the finale yet but that's really sad to hear. Very cheap politicization.

reply

It was even worse when they snogged. Full tongues and everything.

It was funny how they all cheered though, apart from Harvey who looked disgusted.

OOM POM PAH OOM POM PAH thats how it goes...

reply

Why did you say they were gay? They weren't. In the last scene they were seen hugging some woman so...

reply

Oh god, they were gay. Deal with it. They were hugging the woman because they were loved up on ecstasy.

reply

No evidence that they were gay.

You're in denial. Read the thread. They were gay. It was the outcome of their character arc. Without their gayness there was no point to them, they were there for comic relief but weren't funny. You can keep telling yourself they were straight if it makes you feel better. But the fact is they were gay.

reply

Read the thread? You watch the show.
Maybe your fanatical idealism is making you see everything through coloured glasses or something.
Find me an interview from Shane Meadows or something where he says this because there's no evidence that they were gay. You can't make stuff up because you like it and then call it fact.

I'm personally going to put this question to Shane Meadows now on Twitter. I bet he confirms.

Will that be enough proof for you?

OOM POM PAH OOM POM PAH thats how it goes...

reply

Yes,it will. Because the rational man demands evidence before believing. Not going by mere impulse.

reply

Manchild, you were the one who picked up on their gayness and looked for confirmation by starting a thread about it. Now here you are going against your better will. I think you should delete the Mark Twain quote in your sig. That doesn't represent your turncoat nature.
They were gay. Do you need everything spelt out to you? I suppose you think Combo is still alive too. Delete the Twain quote, man. That's just not you.

reply

What a dumb moron. Self-correction is not being a "turncoat". It's following rationality and evidence. Yes,they were hints which I though would coalesce into my confirming my theory that they were gay in the final episode. The final episode came and there was no such revelation which means it was an untrue suspicion.
I don't know why you insist on this obsessively when the evidence goes against you. Maybe just plain stupidity.
We do not know if Combo is alive or not. There is no word on it. It could be both ways.

No,the Twain quote is just not you. The irrational mentality of the masses of " I believe it because I feel it" is strong on you.

reply

I think everyone reading through this thread must be so very disappointed in you tonight. You don't stand by your convictions. You dither around looking for ''confirmation'' when things are clear as daylight in the mind of a person who can judge things rationally.
You'll have to keep dithering along until things are spelt out for you, which is fine. But i still think the Twain quote is inappropriate for someone of your mindset and should be deleted.

reply

What convictions? They were hints. I said the first post that there were hints that it would be revealed in the finale. It wasn't. It didn't matter that much to me if they were gay or not. But if it turned out that it wasn't revealed to be so,why would I persist? Only if I was an obsessed moron who can't think critically.
I think the problem here is it doesn't fit your fantasy that the characters weren't gay or revealed to be gay in the end. So I guess... because you want it to be true...the suspicions which turned out to be wrong HAVE to be right because.. muh feelings. Lol. You can't think critically. Typical braindead doofus. Unfortunately, you are in the majority. As usual.
Here's another quote:

"The individual has always had to struggle to keep from being overwhelmed by the tribe. If you try it, you will be lonely often, and sometimes frightened. But no price is too high to pay for the privilege of owning yourself."

Bi-sexual

I suspected as much. But also for some reason I was wondering about Harvey and Gadget? Harvey does like to prance about and throw his hair around, and they both kissed during the wedding party. I didn't think much of it at first, but that shot of them both dancing together did linger for quite a while. Surely I'm reading into it a bit too much?

reply

It's called intense friendship

reply

Plus Flip described Harvey's music as 'gay'. Projecting?

For me it's just a case of man-love, a bit like Smithy's "love" for Gavin in Gavin & Stacey.
