Not entirely worthless
Don't get me wrong, I utterly despise the movie and think it's hot trash (though slightly less anger-inducing than LAST JEDI), but as a mind-exercise, there are a few things I actually did like about this movie:
1) Richard E. Grant as "General Pride". His acting was perfect and the character presented in a way where I actually found him to be a semi-credible threat. He seemed cunning in a way you'd want a good villain to be (though sadly he ended up being very underused).
2) The planet explosion was pretty cool and more realistic than anything in the 1997 CGI updates of the original trilogy.
3) I liked that the emperor had a bunch of mindless cultist followers worshipping him all throughout the end battle.
4) Rose was barely in it.
5) Harrison Ford popping by for a quick scene - that honestly surprised me when I was in the theater.
6) It undoes the stupidity of the last movie (a little) by having Luke's ghost stop her from discarding the light saber, saying "A real Jedi doesn't throw their light saber away" (or something like that). It was actually a kinda nice little moment.
Uh, um.... was there anything else? :/ Stupid movie, by the way.
