This is one of those boards where you can't talk

about the movie unless it's criticism. You can't bring up an aspect of the film without talking about writing, directing, story, etc. I fucking hate that. The internet used to be a place for discussion about this kinda stuff. It was fun. That's changed in the last several years. You can come to a board and ask something like, "What did ___ mean when they said ____" or "Why did ___ happen?" It turns into an off-topic rant about the franchise sucking, Disney ruining - how conveniently you forget the prequels - . Every conversation is like that now.

reply

Talk? You can't talk about a movie if you feel it was ruined by the fans. This film catered to a segment of the audience and for the rest of us it was clear what they were doing. They failed. So asking questions about what did a certain character mean or why did something or other happen isn't relevant. Everything was done to cater to the big mouths who didn't like the previous movie. They listened and made a movie that is probably going to go down as the worst Star Wars movie ever.

"Talk? You can't talk about a movie if you feel it was ruined by the fans. "

Then don't. Stay THE FUCK AWAY from real attempts at conversation.

reply

OMG, so triggered. You don't even know about why anything you say is irrelevant. That is the best joke of all.

reply

Ha ha well said kuatorises, put this modica troll thing in its place. Sadly though it won’t listen and fuck off and will keep hanging around the SW threads like a bad dog fart.

reply

Hilarious. It's the new Joan Rivers.

reply

Joan Rivers???

Ok so you are old. That explains things. Now FO!

reply

Ha Ha. She only died 5 or 6 years ago. That explains it, you must still be in diapers. You don't have to be old to know about people from the past. Shit, I know who Abe Lincoln was and the died 150 years ago. I know William Shakespeare and certainly wasn't around then. Sorry your world view is so narrow that you only know about things that are happening today. There is this thing called YouTube where you can catch up with it all. I understand why you are so upset about someone disliking a terrible movie like TROS, because it probably is one of the few movies you have actually seen. Now, cancel my subscription to your issues.

reply

Couldn't agree more !!! im actually thankful we got the sequel trilogy , after the Prequels i never thought in a million years we would see the OT cast back on the big screen and im thankful for that.

The ST isn't perfect, i enjoyed TFA and TROS is good even though i disagreed with them bringing back the Emperor , but id rather watch the ST than the prequels.

Its depressing at times seeing people rage constantly.

reply

I think the rancor will die down (a little bit anyway) in ten, fifteen years. Once the Rian Johnson trilogy comes out ;).

reply

I hate the prequels and will (and have) watch these movies again 1000 times before I ever watch a prequel. They are terrible movies from the acting right down to the effects, but that's not my point.

But if you ask an "in movie" question about characters, plots, powers/abilities, etc., and someone response with "Because the movies are poorly written, Kathleen Kennedy sucks, etc." you're an ASSHOLE. If you want to discuss the details of how good (or bad) the technical components of the movie are (or aren't) make your own fucking thread.

reply

thats all people want to talk about. u actually watched this trash ass movie??

reply

Some people are happiest when they are complaining. You'd think they would find more pleasure talking about movies they liked and just ignoring the ones that didn't care for, but that doesn't seem to be the case. Makes it more challenging to chat with others who enjoy the same movies.

reply

There's nothing wrong with complaining. If someone doesn't like something and wants to express that, they should be all means do it. I have and will continue to do so in the future. You're ALLOWED to criticize something. It's a part of what a discussion is, particularly about art.

But the whole kicking the door down and just barging in on ANY conversation about something is a dick moved and just ruins a board. Someone wants to ask why Palpatine was so strong in this one, the details about how he survived/came back, how tough Luke was in his prime, whatever, they should be able to ask that without hearing how much someone hates this movie Kathleen Kennedy, or sucks Lucas' fupa. Keep it separate. Bitch all you want, but on the appropriate threads.

reply

Perhaps I was too kind in the way I worded my thoughts. My point was, some people are never so happy as when they are being hateful towards other people. They seem to take pleasure in hating certain movies and being opening hostile towards anyone who doesn't share their opinion or who dares to try to have a pleasant conversation about them.

It's not the internet's problem that you're incapable or unwilling to understand that these are bad movies from studios that openly insult its fanbase, and deserve all the criticism they get. Make a thread about the hair dye Laura Dern used, no one's stopping you.
