Light side vs. Dark side - Ideas for how it should have been (MASSIVE SPOILERS)

Hello There.

I think the movie started great. When Rey blasted the transport ship, apparently killing Chewbacca, i cheered "Yes! They are really going that way!". But they turned things around and wasted that opportunity.

This should have been two movies.

1. Rey gets frustrated during their tug of war with Kylo, and gets furious with ambition and kills Chewie with force lightning.
2. After that, she finally remembers she killed her parents when she was a child, when in her agony of seeing her parents leave, she force pulled the craft they were going away in. Couple that with Chewie's death, she feels tremendous guilt and pain.
3. During Rey and Kylo fight over the death star ruins, Leia saves her life by distracting Kylo. She takes the shot and stabs Kylo, and Leia dies as she used her last bit of energy. Rey thinks she is responsible for the death of yet another one of the people she loves, and her mentor too. She flees the scene and soon descends into the dark side.
4. A defeated Kylo Ren lies alone, and barely survives. Resistance finds him and patches him up. Reflecting upon wasting his time he could have had with his family, he finds his new family during his time recuperating. Kylo Ren dies, Ben Solo is reborn.
5. Rey escapes and hides in guilt, when Palpatine reaches her and calls to her. Thinking that killing him would set things right and ease her mind, Rey follows the call to the Emperor.
6. Emperor makes her relive all her losses and tells her she kills everyone she loves. And that her friends hate her now, and he is all she has. She turns into the dark side, yellow eyes and all. The movie ends with her being tasked with hunting down Kylo Ren and defeating all opposition against the Last Order.

Second movie would be the Resistance trying to survive and Ben trying to reach Rey. Massive resistance battles, massive lightsaber fight. They would somehow turn Rey around, make her help with killing the emperor, and the Last Order is crushed for good. They ask Rey to stay and turn back to the light, but she is too broken for that, and she leaves to pursue some unknown motives somewhere else in the galaxy. Will her story continue? Will she find redemption inside her heart? Only Box office would tell.

They should have followed this darker route. We did not really have time to be afraid of the dark side. What do you guys think?
