Rey looks about 20 years old so when did he conceive Reys mother? In the flashback showing Reys mother, she looks about late 20s while Rey is 5. Which means... the mother was born around the events of Empire Strikes Back?? Or during the explosion of the Death Star II? ROFL
Maybe Vader set up a nice room with candles and music as Emperor Palpatine got jiggy with a woman.
I can't believe they did this either - been reading nonsense wishful theories like she's Palpatine's daughter over the past few years. They were always shot down due the age thing, to which the shippers would say well she's his granddaughter then, which was met with derision and the obvious - ok, well where was his son / daughter then?
But now they've only gone and done just that storyline 😂
All will be revealed soon in the forthcoming Disney+ sit-com "At Home With The Palpatines". A guaranteed barrell of laughs as Sheev's despairing family try to get him to mend the error of his ways, whilst he tries to sneak out the house to hatch his next evil scheme. Cue the canned laughter as he makes it out the door at the end of each episode!
That's just Jar Jar Abrams creating back stories out of his a**. Rey was definitely a Skywalker in TFA, Rian sabotaged the trilogy in TLJ so out of sheer madness Jar Jar decided to f*** everything up bringing Palpitine back and make her his grand daughter!
I would avoid spoiling anything on the title. I know people who haven't seen it should avoid the internet until they do if they don't want anything spoiled, but this is just mean.
But yeah timeline is a bit odd, meaning hard to believe. But after the previous movie shitstorm, JJ made his best to wrap it up and avoid a disaster, which on first viewing I believe he did.
The last movie I left the movie trying to convince myself that the movie was okay and that everything was going to be okay, but I knew the movie was a bloody disaster. However this one I feel like the movie was okay, not great but okay, I'd say a 6/10 whereas the other was a 4/10.
I thought it was ok while watching it but the more I think about it the worse it seems. There were so many plot hole, logical fallacies and things that happened that were just too convenient. I think I liked it at first because it was better than the disastrous TLJ but nothing makes sense. It would have made more sense for Rey to be a Skywalker. I mean what woman during the original trilogy was going to let Palpatine put his shriveled up dong in her. The entire sequel trilogy just seems like a poorly written fan fiction by someone that wasn't even really a fan to begin with.
Couldn't agree more. These writers should be embarrassed. It started well and then it got stupid. And then horrendous. There wasn't even a fight between palpatine and Rey!
The key factor is Palpatine never died, so he could've impregnated someone with the right amount of time for Rey to be his granddaughter
I actually like how they handled it - the first three movies were about Luke. The prequel trilogy turned the series into Anakin's story. And now it turns out the nine movies were about Skywalkers vs. Palpatines. Works for me,
But that also leads to another unexplained lazy plot point: How did the Emperor survive?
Perhaps a loyal follower found him in the shaft in the death star II and flew him out of there? The viewer shouldn't need to be filling in the gap for possibly the biggest retcon in the SW saga.
It's lazy writing. Any twist in every decent movie would have clues or foreshadows early in the movie or previous movies. There is none for this, it just came from nowhere.
Yeah. The Emperor was only brought back to lessen the control the damage after TLJ.
I've seen TLJ twice and its a very forgettable movie. But from what I can remember, the worst thing about TLJ was the handling of Luke. All else, for me, could be overlooked and forgiven. But Luke's handling was the main issue for TLJ (for me anyway).
Palps was a rich powerful guy (Trump) he bought a young sex slave girl from another world (Melainia)and had Reys mother (Barron) seems pretty normal to me.
This resurrection is a dumb idea, especially because kids who have only seen this trilogy won't even know who Palpatine is. But maybe that doesn't matter. He's just a generic wrinkly old white villain. Kids will quickly pick up on the fact that he is a bad guy, I guess. I don't know. This trilogy is horrendous.
