Not really.
The visuals are great. It shows they put money there. But that's it. It feels empty.
You could use exactly the same trailer to promote an scent and it would work equally fine. Because there's no story there. It's just some beautiful shots piled together.
Its a trailer , how on earth can you piece together the story from a tv spot?
shareIt's the final chapter of a trilogy. The story should be already there.
This is the trailer of the final movie in Lord of the Rings

Another example, this is the trailer of the of Return of the Jedi. Far worse visually, trailers weren't good until the 90s... and however, the feeling of a story is there.

A very specific example. This moment of the new trailer https://youtu.be/u5-ilpMzHWQ?t=122 is actually a copy from this moment in in Return of the Jedi trailer https://youtu.be/7L8p7_SLzvU?t=66. It tries to copy the original feeling... but it uses two characters (Leia and Rey) that have barely any relation at all!! The new trailer is just visually stunning shots and melodramatic music and scenes for the sake of being dramatic and visually stunning.
There's nothing behind, it's empty.
Nitpicking, too many people here just finding reasons to hate , such a negative board , perhaps im the only star wars fan on here these days

This is an analysis about how the new trailer has used (and changed) the classic themes. The video is very good (the channel in general is very good). It's in european Spanish, but it has manually translated English subtitles.
