The long-awaited sequel to the BIGGEST ANIMATED FILM OF ALL TIME earned just 8.5 million in previews.
Is TROS also heading for an underperformance?
Everyone was expecting next year for Disney to really retrench...but is it already happening now?
I'll be heading to an early afternoon showing of The Rise of Skywalker, I suspect the theater may be a quarter full in an early afternoon showing say 1 or 2pm.
There may be a full theater for the evenings here and there, but I don't think it will last much longer beyond the first weekend.

LOL...fair enough, rockfly. I do think it's a little underwhelming domestically following the biggest animated film of all-time that was a cultural phenomenon. It will be interesting to see how it holds from here on out.

I started this thread right after the underwhelming Thursday preview numbers were released. The situation improved as the weekend went on but a 130 million opening weekend is indeed a disappointment to the (arguably) most hotly anticipated sequel in history. Frozen was the BIGGEST ANIMATED FILM IN HISTORY.
Now...overseas has been spectacular. Domestic...disappointing.
Queen FFS its only just opened, what did it finish with Domestically? how on earth can you say that's disappointing considering the crap you come out with on other non Disney films, Abominable ,Harriet, Downtown Abbey, domestically its doing great, and you look like an idiot
