Board dead?
I haven’t seen a post here for over 2 days. Has posting to the board been disabled or broken?

Lack of interest doesn't at all surprise me. This is Star Wars in name only.

This is normal for moviechat...it's not at IMDb levels yet ..
shareNor ever will be...
More than likely true. It's never going to be like the old imdb boards when the hype of big releases would often crash the boards from all the traffic.
shareYep. This place is tiny by comparison.
The early years if IMDb was very much like this as well. To be honest though I wouldn't want it to be like the later days of IMDb. The boards crashing constantly sucked ..
shareYep. Moviechat is at about 2007 era IMDb
shareI lived for IMDb boards. Couldn’t believe it when they announced shutting them down.
shareIt was the greatest act of social media sabotage the world has ever known.
I think the movie studios DEMANDED they be shut down, because they were directly affecting business like ticket sales for particularly bad movies like this.
Not even close. I don't know how anyone can seriously compare the two in terms of user numbers. How many regular users are there on Moviechat, a few hundred ? IMDb must have been well into the tens of thousands of regular users.
It's definitely in the thousands. Go on the general board for instance. The estimated traffic is around 500,000 visits per month (not unique visitors). It's the most popular IMDB alternative out there currently.
shareIt´s very early days for Movie Chat even though its been almost three years but I´ve seen a noticeable increase in activity here in the last few months. Not bad considering it took IMDB over 20 years to get where it was.
shareNo it's not normal for Moviechat - most popular movies have several new threads a day. The interest level for this movie is just in the gutter.
shareDisney will ramp up the promos around Thanksgiving.
shareThey are focusing on Disney+, which starts Nov 12. The Mandalorian is getting new TV spots every day.

bombs away, Star Wars is DEAD
shareJust the movie getting the disinterest it deserves, I think.
I took my nephew to see Jojo Rabbit last weekend; after the SW trailer rolled, the theater was still silent.
😞 Never mind the Tragedy of Darth Plagueis. Now we have the real-life Tragedy of Star Wars. Never thought I’d live to see the day.
