Enough said.

She's awful, especially when you look back and realize how hard Hayden, Liam, Ewan and the other actors from the prequel trilogy worked to become great swordsmen. Those lightsaber duels were on point. That gaffe in the throne room scene that didn't get re-shot or edited out is unacceptable.

An important point was made that many people overlook. One of the biggest issues with Rey's combat skills is that not only is there no credible in universe for her fencing skills, they really did a poor job of training Daisy Ridley to "look" as skilled as Rey is inexplicably supposed to be & the fight scenes/suspension of disbelief suffers because of it.

reply

But she should looked untrained, because she is untrained.

reply

She looks untrained because she is untrained yet inexplicably defeats multiple opponents who are exceptionally well trained.

I think it's stupid and the very essence of her Mary Sueness, but it's supposed to be her connection with the Force that allows her to do it.

reply

That makes sense.

reply

You know have a poor written character when so much about the character doesn't make any sense and has to be explained away by "I guess it must be the Force or something"

reply

Because imaginary swords without a blade are just like medieval swords! What army is this expert in anyway?
