Will Rey still be hanging out with Chewbacca & flying the Falcon?

It will be funny to see if they'll even bother to explain why Rey has apparently inherited Han Solo's ship and Wookie sidekick beyond it just being an obvious excuse to have these classic OT Star Wars things (like Anakin's lightsaber) indefinitely attached to MaRey as fanservice accessories.

Surely Han's Last will and testament would have left the Falcon to Chewie?

It would be funny if we find out he is part owner in the upcoming solo film .... If I can stand to watch it...

reply

Yeah, I thought that Chewie was willing to let Rey co-pilot on occasion, and that it's his ship.

Would he bring a loud, annoying pet on board, if it wasn't his ship and he could do what he liked with it?

reply

Would he still sit in the co-pilot seat if he was the pilot ...

reply

We don't know if there's any difference in the controls in the two seats.

For all we know, Chewie's decided that the former co-pilot's seat is now the captain's seat!

reply

That doesn't seem plausible.

reply

Why?

We know nothing about the controls, for all we knew Chewie just likes that seat.

reply

It would be more likely that Chewy is the ship's Commander, but still co-pilot from an operational perspective.

reply

Then who's the pilot?

There's no indication that she's on the MF full time, we've only seen her and Chewie together going to and fro from Luke's planet. Maybe he was just giving her a ride. And he's got 30+ years more flight experience.

reply

Your words work more against your argument than for it. rey is obviously the pilot and it's only been a couple of days across the past 2 films.

Plus rey seems to be able to fly the MF just fine to evade Tie Fighters and light up jammed turrets for kill-shots etc - even though she has never flown off-planet before.

rey flys it when she is in it, or gives Chewy instructions on what to do + where to meet her etc when she has to jump off it.

Maybe there has been some upgrades that means it flys itself now ...
