To all the Fandom Menace
You succeeded in stomping Star Wars to death. It's not even on life-support at this point.
What's your next target to obsess and hate on?

Star Wars will survive, but Kennedy won't
shareWhat do you mean by stomping it to death? The Mandalorian is super-popular, Episode IX has made over a billion dollars worldwide (according to Box Office Mojo), and has a 6.9 on IMDb (a reasonable score for a good flick).
They're planning more sequels and spinoffs and all kinds of stuff, so...is it really dead?
They've concluded the new trilogy, but that has nothing to do with the "fans".
Finally, if the fans hate Star Wars, then who are they making it for? If your target audience hates your movie: don't make it. Make something they will like, like maybe another Xeroxed Marvel Movie or (heaven forbid!) something original and cool.
To death? Nah.
To the point of eventually decanonizing the DT, and preventing any further attempts at recontextualization of the OT or PT into a woke, hackneyed travesty? God I hope so.
As noted, The Mandalorian proves they can deliver SW that the fandom wants. It just needs leadership from actual talent who know and care about the IP, rather than feminist ideologues who know little about it and care even less.
But for you fans of current year SW, fear not, current rumors point to the future of SW movies being even more like the aforementioned XMM (Xeroxed Marvel Movies). No more constraint by the trilogy format, and Jedi superheroes with the Force granting them whatever powers the writers want to make up. They'll be prequels to the PT, which will break EU Old Republic canon unfortunately, but maybe we the fandom at least burned the Mouse enough to never risk touching Lucas' canon again.
I hate hyperbole. We've had this conversation before. try googling "baby yoda plush". They are not out yet but you can start pre-ordering now. Don't forget about the half billion that the video game will make by the end of the first qtr. Star Wars is an institution in American entertainment. You're narrow minded.
shareTheatrical is dead as a doornail.
Look for Disney to pull those future 3 dates from their slate
Star Wars will be relegated to streaming...that's a huge fall from the top of the mountain...with or without plush Yoda toys.
If Disney is smart they will take several years before releasing the next SW film. I imagine that is exactly what they will do. Then they will release one and it will make a butt ton of money like they always do. The star wars franchise will always be on the mount rushmore of the box office. But spin away dude.
shareYou're the only one "spinning" and using your "imagination" here.
Like I said...theatrical is dead. The Force Awakens made a "butt ton of money" because it promised the reunion of Han/Leia/Luke and they don't have that card to play anymore.
It made a butt ton of money because it's star wars and so will the next one whenever it comes out. This likely will not be anytime soon. I don't have to use my imagination, I have history on my side. I'll take history over your personal agenda any day.
Remember, pepsi didn't fold up after they tried to make their pop clear that one time. This isn't rocket science.
No it's not rocket science to see the precipitous slide at the box office for this franchise and conclude that the jig is up. If "it's Star Wars" is all that's needed for success tell that to Solo. Also, explain how the conclusion of the trilogy only made HALF as much as the first entry?
sharesolo is the clear pepsi. I thought that was clear. It's also clear that star wars needs a break.......as they have taken in the past when needed. Then they come out and break records. It's cyclical, plain and simple.
Either you use too much hyperbole or perhaps you don't know what dead as a doornail means.
Can you name any successful company whose business strategy is to piss off their primary source of income?
shareDick's Last Resort?
shareOutrage channels on youtube. They make videos that will make people mad to get clicks.
But, your point is well taken: you can't just infuriate fans.
I don't think that was the strategy here, though. I think they genuinely thought that there was a market for this stuff. Numbers have given them a false impression that they are right, too.
It looks like people will pay big bucks to see a "Star Wars: Episode _" film without much thought regarding the story. We want to see what happens next in the series, so we go. When it's just "_____: A Star Wars Story" we don't care as much and the movie itself has to rely a bit more on its actual quality (or perception thereof).
