since there was no time jump between Episode 7 & 8, does that make TFA and TLJ one big long movie? I'm just wondering.

Pretty much. If IX opens with the Falcon dropping out of hyperspace with the remaining Resistance on board, then all 3 form one continuous narrative.

All 3 movies would essentially form one long movie

ok. that also means that the whole sequel trilogy takes place in one week or something.
