He's a producer...this franchise needs creativity...not another suit that knows how to sign a check...pass.

Top Gun was a great movie? Not so much imho.

Thats just because you are old and like to yell "get off my lawn" to the neighborhood kids. Top Gun was the biggest movie of 1986 and propelled Tom into super stardom. And don't forget the best love song ever.

M-1 weighs 12 friggin' pounds. The AR-15 only weighs about 7 pounds, much easier to handle.
Surely you jest. Top Gun was an enjoyable but mediocre action/romance film. It might have been "big", but it wasn't very good, especially compared with other 1986 films such as Aliens (8.4 on IMDB), Stand By Me (8.1), Hannah and Her Sisters (8.0), Blue Velvet (7.8) and the Oscar Winning Platoon (8.1).
Now get off my lawn, dammit!
