Who weeps for Disney?

I hear a lot of "it's the death of Star Wars" talk, but no one is talking about the fall of Disney.

Remember Disney? Dumbo. Pinocchio. Snow White. Fantasia. Beautiful, breathtaking animation. Movies that didn't divide audiences with lame attempts at political grandstanding (sometimes called virtue signaling). Each movie was new, different. They didn't feel the need, in the old days, to recycle the same stuff over and over again. What happened to THAT Disney? That's the real tragedy here. I can't imagine what young parents must feel like today, taking their children to see another lazy, computer-animated propaganda fest disguised as family entertainment. They might as well be throwing their money down the toilet.

I don't mind some of their movies, but I really hate how Disney are becoming more and more powerful, like some greedy octopus with various corporations on the end of its tentacles. It's their attitude towards "safe" and "family-friendly" products that I don't like. If they take over the whole of Hollywood, everything will be bland and have to cater to children as well as grownups. It's happening now: Disney have taken over 20th Century Fox, and if Deadpool 2 is PG or some crap like that, I will despair for the movie and TV industries.

Good point.

At its core its youth indoctrination. I think it all has to do with the people in charge, and Star Wars will fix itself. Kathleen Kennedy and her gender studies story group don't care about making good movies, just lecturing the audience. The movies will get worse, and the higher ups at Disney will have to clean house at Lucasfilm. I hope Disney will change as well, and hope such sweeping change will happen when Bob Iger steps down as CEO, but that won't happen until sometime after the Fox merger if it goes through.

For the sake of good entertainment and storytelling, let's hope so.
