What happened to General Madine?!

The actor, Dermot Crowley, is alive and well. Plays a significant part in Netflix' series "Luther". Why didn't he repeat his role?

Maybe he became part of the New Republic and got blown up in Force Awakens.

How about Mon Mothma? Probably the same fate.

I think you're right.

Ah, Mon Mothma was in ROTJ, the prequels, and Rogue One - and no mentioning in TLJ? A shame, I liked her character too.

Ackbar and Mothma actually married and had a kid.

There's a spinoff movie about their child called The Shape of Water. It's very touching.
