7.7 on IMDb...
🤔
shareI think it will drop to around 7 in about a week.

Critics got free tickets and got paid for the review, audience had to pay for the ticket. ;)
shareThey "got paid" for their reviews?
I guess the audience members that were polled by Cinemascore got paid too with their "A" rating?
It looks like the prequels weren't that bad after all.
shareIt's not even close...TLJ is much better than the prequels.
shareDisney has yet to produce a Star Wars movie that is even up to the level of the Holiday Special, much less the prequels
shareThat's a silly statement IMO.
TFA, RO and TLJ all blow away the first two prequels and are better than ROTS too, albeit by a lesser margin.
Btw...I like all of the films...even the prequels.
I thought the prequels had their fair share of faults (ie. Jar Jar) but they at least told a coherent story and had a clear understanding of their characters, can't say that for the Disney Films
1) Empire Strikes Back
2) A New Hope
3) Revenge of the Sith
4) Return of the Jedi
5) Attack of the Clones
6) The Phantom Menace
7) The Holiday Special
8) The Last Jedi
9) Rogue One
10) The Force Awakens
Something fishy about the way their official statement is worded here:
A Rotten Tomatoes spokesperson commented on claims by fans that LAST JEDI's 54% audience score was not authentic, “We have several teams of security, network, and social database experts who constantly monitor reviews and ratings to ensure that they are genuine. They haven’t seen anything unusual with The Last Jedi, except that there has been an uptick in the number of written user reviews submitted.
Aside from that, everything is normal and we don’t see any unusual activity. We looked at The Last Jedi compared to other blockbusters and it has been consistent with those past films. We’ve been working around the clock to get the numbers right.
Authenticity is very important to us. We have security teams, network teams, database teams who work so hard, it’s a little disheartening for them to see people make such [accusatory] claims without knowing the facts.”
What about it seems fishy? What actually seems fishy is that a social media claim of hacking the site was ever taken seriously to begin with...there were Mouse prints all over that reeking pile of bantha fodder...
shareI guess it seems fishy, to me anyway, that they worded it that suspicion was directed to the low audience rating, rather than address suspicion as to why the critic rating was so high. Seemed a bit of a deflection to me....reverse psychology so to speak. These days, it's surely more probable that it's the paid critic ratings that are 'not authentic'.
shareGotcha...and duh on me...understand and agree!!! And yeah...why are there stories about some rouge hacker altering scores and not why critics praised a turd? I even have an interesting video set...first is critics take prior to the review embargo dropped...second is after...night and day difference. I'm sure he was forbidden to spoil the plot...but an honest opinion of the films quality? If I had been him I would have done the first video with tape over my mouth as a gesture of honesty to my audience. Instead Monday...praise! Tuesday...rebuke...same critic...WTF is that?
shareI honestly think that's why they ended the imdb message boards, to eliminate further discussion of a movies 'turd-ness'. Movie turdness is at an historic all time high lately and it's the reason that Hollywood movie revenue is dropping. Damage control is in full effect.
shareDamn dude...that makes so much sense! never bought the horse shit reason that what's his name gave about the behavior being the main factor...but he is beholden to the Hollywood machine...they spoke and he delivered...BRILLIANT!
shareSeems perfectly genuine. What exactly do you find "fishy" about that statement?
shareI clapped!
share6.5,the best.
shareI gave it a 4. It was pretty bad IMO. I gave TFA a 7.
