Why was it okay for Vice Admiral Holdo to sacrifice herself for the greater good but not Finn?

Rose saving Finn from sacrificing himself (so that others might live) and then lecturing him -- and the audience -- on how such tactics are tactics corrupt-to-the-core outfits like The Order utilize, and that the Resistance is better than that, even though we just saw Holdo do what Rose is so adamantly against, made no sense to me at all.

I think the unspoken message here is that Holdo didn't have anyone who loved her.

As Rose said, "We win by saving what we love, not by fighting what we hate."

Although, Finn was trying to save people who were close to him, and Rose could have easily killed them both.

Rose (or whoever wrote that stuff) is an idiot.

I actually missed this part from the movie. STRANGE that this would be written in a movie where Admiral Holdo, Rose's sister, AND Luke Skywalker all sacrificed themselves for the greater good.

Also, what First Order people are out there sacrificing themselves?

Yeah this speech of hers is getting more and more contradictory the more I think about it.
