Okay, if no one's gonna say it...

Please stop calling episodes 1-3, and episodes 7-9, "prequels", or "sequels". They're not. Epic stories are told middle, beginning, then the end. "The Oyddesy" is told the exact same way. They're not prequels, they're episodes 1-3, they're not sequels, they're episodes 7-9. Can we please start calling them by their real names???

The Oyddesy?

I hate autocorrect

reply

No, it takes too long.

Even "prequels" and "sequels" are too long.

PT, OT, ST : that's fast.

It's 2017 : no one has a job but everyone is in a hurry for some reason.

reply

Can we still call them "The bad ones"?

reply

Yes.

They are prequels and sequels because they were contrived decades after the fact. Star Wars was three wonderfully made movies from the 70s and 80s. Not really any kind of an epic story beyond those three pictures. Disney will prove that as they continue to milk it for all it's worth with endless sequels spin-offs.

reply

It’s always been

Classic Trilogy IV-VI
Prequel Trilogy I-III
Sequel Trilogy VII-IX

Anyone calling it different is doing it wrong.

reply

I call them the originals, the new trilogy, and the disappointments.

reply

Actually, there's Star Wars and The Empire Strikes Back and all that other crap...

reply

Would be amusing and relatively admirable if this were to happen... but it ain’t gonna. As you can plainly see, everybody makes up their own rules anyway.

On a side note, despite what most forums say the new trilogy is legit. 👌

reply

There are six good Star Wars films, the rest are Disney movies.
