Aliens specifically designed to sell toys, nothing of interest about them other than that.

Honestly don't see what all the fuss is over a cute sidekick for chewy...seems like they will fit quite well in the Star Wars universe given what they are...cuddly comic relief that kids will most likely enjoy....at the end of the day it is the opinions of those under 12 I am most concerned with as they understand the importance of fun in a galaxy far far away...and Porgs sure look fun to me!!!

They're cute and they look like a Pokemon.

They scream just like the attack alarm on a Star Wars ship, which is great.

They're better than Ewoks or Jar-Jar.

I do find them cute and certainly preferable to Jar jar.

As it happens I visited Skellig Michael more than 20 years ago. It was puffin a-go-go I tell you. Quite cute animals, not unlike Porgs. So I reckon that's where they got the inspiration.

It is! Rian Johnson was inspired by the puffins on the island and wanted to make the island feel real and inhabited. Thus, the porgs were born from their real life puffin counterparts. 😊
