Sandrine

Watching on Sundance in the USA and they just aired the Madame Costa episode. What the hell is wrong with Sandrine not believing her daughter came back? In season one she kept asking why Camille and not Audrey? And then she turns her into Pierre. Makes no sense.

reply

Because initially it was just Audrey. But since then there's been more, & some have creeped her out. Then you have the whole thing with Toni, & Pierre has gotten in her head. I think right now she's probably wishing she hasn't told Pierre.

reply

But it's her daughter. Camille is the same, why wouldn't Audrey be? Anyways they've got to explain what the hell is going on with the Helping Hand. Pierre is a returned himself, so I don't know why he is capturing the newly returned. Last season the Helping Hand was a safe place for all the returned to be. Now it's for the people who have never died. What happened?

His friend killed Victor. Victor even called him out on it last season. He told Victor try singing a song in your head when your feeling sad. That's the same thing he told Victor 30 something years ago when he was in the closet, right before his friend killed him. I don't remember how he died. But he came back.

reply

Well, he was definitely a returned in the American version. Since that was a a remake of the French one, I pretty much assumed that he died and came back too. I've watched all the episodes of the French one too and it's a lot more confusing and hard to understand than the one A&E did, so I might be wrong.

reply

I would never depend on a remake to be the same as an original especially if its American. Sorry if people don't like what I said but American versions frequently ruin the original version. Each version will be different so I would never make assumptions like that.

reply

Well now it makes sense if Pierre isn't a return since he's against them now.

Hey, shopaholic818! I think I saw you on the American version's board a while ago. You must definitely, definitely (re)watch Season 1 before you watch Season 2, because a lot of the plots are different from the American version and they change a lot of the story as well. Pierre's story, especially, is extremely rewarding to watch right through to the end, but not if you think of him as some sort of hero who made one mistake and then spent a lifetime repenting for it as a fellow returned. His entire story with Victor (and the rest of the returned) takes on a whole other dimension.

I'm not sure how far you have gotten, but in Season 2, it is clear that Pierre is not a returned. He was supposed to kill himself way back when Milan and Etienne were killed. He did not do it and grew up, which is why it was obviously to Milan that he did not do it.

reply

Yeah, now that the season is over, it's obvious he's not a returned. I watched the American version first, where he was a returned, then Season 1 of the French version (where I assumed the storyline was the same as the American one, since most were) and then Season 2. Pierre not killing himself in the circle, definitely proved he wasn't a returned. This entire show is so confusing. So many unanswered questions. Glad its over.

reply

No Pierre isn't one of the returned.

reply

Definitely mixing up the two versions. The US one started of almost scene-for-scene copying the French original, but then it definitely went off on its own tangeant and isn't following the same storyline at all anymore. So although Pierre died and came back in the US version, that isn't something that we've seen happen in the French series and later episodes indicate he definitely hasn't died and returned.

reply

I think you have to imagine how it would be in that situation. Nobody knows what's true or not, what is really happening, & friends say they have their dead daughter back from the dead, when your daughter hasn't returned. You must wish & wish for her to return, then while you're in the middle of this nightmare you listen to Pierre saying firstly no one returned & then those that had weren't who they claimed to be/were evil & were a threat to them. He has killed quite a few people in his life so he must be a bit freaked out that
They've started coming back, & maybe are out for revenge. So then your daughter comes back from the dead & you have no idea what's up or down. It's not like the rest of their life is living out normally, they are all really isolated & not doing anything from a normal life.

reply

Oh its definitely confusing. Except that the returned seem to have the same personalities they've always had. Milan has always been bad and Camille as always been good.

Now the show itself is extremely difficult to understand. I actually understood the American one much better, even though it went off track. Now when I watch the French version, I have to go to a website after every episode to figure out what I just saw. I put the link within the post entitled Aaaarrrrrghhh, as that person was also having difficulties.
