Mutant?

I read a lot of X-men and the I was thinking of that middle story in the Twilight Zone movie with the cartoon kid.

Are we supposed to think all this happened to everyone because this kid wanted a mommy? And how does the cult connect to that? And what connection does the school bus have to any of it?

Thought this was great writing up until the way they ended it. There were some lose character arc endings too I thought.

I got the impression from the scene where Victor's "father" falls and hits his head that Victor calls forth the returned, maybe accidentally, or maybe it was just a premonition on their return. We know that he sees the future, but that part seemed passive until the end. And then there's his ability to project a person's fear. Sounds pretty X-men to me.

I don't know that he was looking for a mommy, but companionship maybe. He was quiet for the 35 years he lived with Mr. Lewanski, and quiet for years before that, wherever he was. There has to be a reason why he's frozen in time as a child. It's probably the age when he was first killed, like the other returned, but he's clearly not the same as them.

Yeah, that's what I took from it as well. His Father that he went to live with died and in the process of wishing him back he brought back all the others. So the Father also was a Returned but he was in a coma, much like how some of the Returned just kind of walked around without speaking until someone brought out their personality.

Was Victor locked as a child because of being one when he died? No telling... he seemed to have powers of, dare I say, God or maybe a fallen Angel or something. In the end I don't think it was that he wanted a Mom but rather he wanted Julie to live more than anything but she needed him to do that.

In the end it was one of the weirdest shows I've ever watched... and despite not being perfect it was a lot more satisfying a conclusion than Lost was. But that's not saying much, still, for all the unexplained they did a lot to paint a picture of what happened while leaving room for our own imaginations to fill in the rest.

I don't think he was a mutant, he was... something else. Something maybe completely new.
