Confused about the dam and the flood

I binge-watched the first season a few years ago. Now I've seen the first two episodes of season two (and part of the third episode) and can't remember everything from season one.

In the first episode of season two they don't understand how the flood happened. They've inspected the dam and can't find a leak. But then in episode three they show a dam collapsing and flooding the town 35 years earlier. Was a new dam built after that further upstream? This might have been explained in season one but it's hard to remember all the details.

The old dam collapses.
A new dam is built.
31 years later the bus with Camille and others crashes.
35 years later Camille and others return.
Then the flood happens, and we see a bell tower emerging from the lake because the water level has decreased (this tells that the new dam is further downstream).
The big pit is discovered.
The flood is attributed to a network of tunnels that let the water flow under the new dam.

Thank you!

Camille was only dead for 10 years, her and her sister were twins but Lena aged up and we saw her as age 19 or 20.

what Jordie?

reply

I meant that Camille returned 4 years after the crash.
