The new Louie CK?

The first ep was a bit shaky and uncertain, but since then I've really enjoyed the show. With each new ep Maron seems to get better.

It may not be fair to compare Maron to Louie, but there are parallels. I like them both... Just on the surface, both are named after the first name of the star.

I wonder if they talk (trade story ideas etc). He said on Fresh Air after he did the guest spot on Louie, their relationship has gotten a lot better.

Similar humor, but Marc is more self-loathing. I like both shows (and both personalities), but Louie does it better. Having said that, there's still room for Maron to grow.

I think after the first show, Maron got much better... I love the Louie show, and agree he currently does it better (but not by a whole lot). Louie is a bit more polished, and meticulous and thorough in a bit more extreme realism-- or whatever you call it when a homeless man in on the street gets randomly replaced, etc. And also agree Maron has room to grow. Both get some great guests. I never heard of Stanhope till that Eddie ep but that is one of my favorites. There seem to be quite a few parallels with him and Louie. The interview he (Maron) did on NPR/Terry Gross a few weeks ago was very interesting.

I like the outtake/extras IFC has put up. Like many of Louie's extra's could easily be in the show.

Garlin make me lol at the end of the scene of this one (below). Then I thought wtf, is that appropriate to laugh out to that? (To be honest, I don't lol easily.) On the third viewing of it, I noticed Garlin mutters early in the scene "and that was just last week" which brought out a new lol.

No he's the old Marc Maron. Ugh ... these Louis CK comparisons are so annoying.

They're similar in that they both play versions of themselves. And they're different in that Louis CK and Marc Maron are different. If you watch their stand-up acts, you wouldn't draw comparisons, but since its two sitcoms about comedians, the comparisons are inevitable. Even Seinfeld was a show about a comedian.

Facts are meaningless. You could use facts to prove anything that's even remotely true!
